HookWise computes the sun's and moon's positions on your device using standard astronomical methods, verified against the U.S. Naval Observatory's published data. Major periods are the two hours centered on the moon's overhead and underfoot passages at your spot; minor periods are the hour around moonrise and moonset. Solunar theory is a century-old angling tradition, presented as a planning aid, never a guarantee.
Many apps compute for your city center or round to the nearest location; HookWise computes for your spot's exact coordinates and time zone. Small differences (a few minutes) between published tables are normal.
Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings > HookWise, that alerts are enabled in HookWise Settings, and that a feeding window actually falls in the coming hours. Alerts are scheduled in advance and fire even if the app is closed.
The conditions layer needs a network connection. If it stays empty, toggle Wi-Fi/cellular and pull down to refresh on the Today screen.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple and canceled anytime in iOS Settings > your Apple Account > Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
